Question by Keep On Trucking: Generally speaking, do you think older people have a lower level of “social intelligence”, or tact?
I observe that older people (people 60+) tend to have far less social tact, communicative skill, and empathic ability that most people I know in my generation. Am I just not seeing the whole picture or is there something to this? Were these skills just never taught? It just seems like older people feel like they run the world and can behave and speak however they like. Yeah, of course, some young people can do this, too.
What if we all got tired of “the facade” and quit being polite to each other all together? Society would even be worse than it is now.
Joseph… I didn’t say this was an absolute, I said it was a tendency that I have observed. No disrespect intended, just an observation of reality as I limitedly see it, admitting that I may not be seeing the whole picture.

they are from a different time where speaking was very important without having things like picture messaging and email they had to have very good communicative skills however now they are in a world that needs everything now and they just don’t care, they have done their time and now they don’t have to explain themselves to anyone they already made it.
